Have you purchased bananas that have to be thrown out because they went bad before you had a chance to eat them? If you are like me, I see it as money going down the drain. When I find I have too many bananas or have one close to going bad, I simply it cut it up and store in freezer. It can be used later for a strawberry banana smoothie or for a quick snack for later.

A frozen banana can be a little treat to take the place of night time ice cream. It is creamy, cold and takes a while to eat. What a nice surprise to open the freezer and find you have a prepared healthy sweet snack.
Strawberry Banana Smoothie
Smoothies can be a quick alternative to breakfast for a busy morning. Simply prepare the night before and you are ready to grab and go the next day. Remember for weight loss purposes, a high calorie smoothie is not your best solution for snacks as you want to keep your snacks around 200 calories or lower.
Here is my favorite breakfast strawberry banana smoothie that is high in protein and lower in calories.
- ½ cup of crushed ice
- 1 banana, frozen
- 1 Light and Fit Greek Strawberry Yogurt
- 1/2 cup skim cup milk
- ½ scoop of Whey protein powder

Protein – 32gms
Before you throw out those bananas, cut them up and freeze. You may be surprised to learn how useful they can be with a busy schedule.
